AZBLINK · NFV EDGE
Secure Edge Workspace

Turn one edge box
into everyone’s secure second computer.

Cut edge TCO. Raise security at the edge.

Azblink NFV Platform replaces a pile of edge appliances and “special PCs” with one x86 node that runs desktops, network functions and always-on services. Per-VM NFV, Zero Trust slices and service chaining raise security while simplifying how each site is built and operated.

Per-VM NFV shrinks blast radius
Multi-OS workspaces Windows & Linux
Multi-WAN · Split-DNS
Built for branches, homes, labs and micro data centers using standard low-power multi-core x86 hardware, and already powers Azblink SafeNest, Azblink EHub, Azblink TeamPulse and Azblink Mail Solution as reference applications. A single Azblink NFV node can replace multiple firewalls, routers, NVR boxes and “special PCs” at each site.
Concept

What do we mean by “a secure second computer”?

It’s not a single application. It’s a secure, always-on workspace that lives at the edge — where your apps, data, and communications stay protected, even as you move between devices and sites.

Azblink NFV provides the foundation. The examples below show how that foundation becomes a “second computer” in real deployments.

Why

The perimeter moved. Your desktops didn’t.

AI, LLMs and rich web apps pushed heavy workloads back to endpoints. At the same time, Zero Trust and compliance expect fine-grained control over every flow. Azblink NFV moves complexity off laptops into one secure edge host.

Platform

One secure host. Three powerful roles.

Azblink NFV is your edge virtual desktop platform, your NFV security stack and your always-on node for AI, NVR gateway, and data‑protection workflows — with storage kept on a NAS or a separate server when needed.

Secure multi-site app access
Multi-site fabric · Secure mobility · Per-VM isolation for intranet apps. Run internal applications across sites on a private Azblink NFV backbone, with users connecting securely from branches or Mobile VPN instead of exposing apps to the public internet.
Role 1
Multi-OS workspaces
Run multiple Windows and Linux desktops for office work, operations, dev/test and monitoring. Each workspace is isolated from the others and from the user’s everyday PC.
Role 2
Virtualized firewall / router / VPN / SBC
Consolidate firewall, routing, VPN and SBC into the same node. Use virtual bridges and zones to separate WAN, internal, DMZ, guest and management traffic without piling up separate appliances.
Role 3
Always-on edge node
Dedicate VMs for AI pipelines, NVR gateway / video analytics, and data‑protection workflows — while keeping large storage on a NAS or separate server. Pin CPU and memory, throttle I/O, and auto-start workloads so background jobs never disrupt frontline desktops. Use the NFV fabric to route, segment, and secure traffic between compute VMs and storage systems.
Features

NFV and security, down to the VM.

Think of each VM as its own security zone, with dedicated network, routing, VPN and service chain.

Per-VM networking
Attach VMs to VLANs and VRFs, apply ACLs and QoS per workload, and clearly separate east-west and north-south flows.
Per-VM routing & VPN breakout
Choose which VM uses which uplink or VPN tunnel, with policy-based routing, Multi-WAN and Split-DNS for compliance.
Service chaining
Send traffic through a defined path of vFirewall, IDS/IPS, proxy and VPN. Tune and audit each step independently.
Private Cloud

Your small but complete private cloud at the edge.

Azblink NFV gives you a compact private cloud node that lives where work actually happens — in branches, homes, labs and micro data centers. You keep the control plane, the data and the policies on your own hardware, while still running multiple operating systems, apps and services on a shared NFV platform.

Own your control plane
Run your own virtual desktops, network functions and edge services on standard x86 hardware. No external hypervisor or cloud control plane is required — the private cloud node belongs fully to your organization.
Keep sensitive data on-site
For finance, healthcare, government and regulated environments, keep workloads and data local while still giving users modern, isolated workspaces. Per-VM NFV, routing and VPN help enforce data residency and Zero Trust policies.
Build a fabric across sites
Deploy multiple Azblink NFV nodes to branches, shops, community facilities or homes, and connect them via VPN and Split-DNS. Each node is a small private cloud, and together they form an edge fabric under your own control.
Solutions

One platform. Different stories by industry.

The technical core stays the same. Finance, healthcare, public sector, retail and homes each get their own secure second computer.

Finance

Split trading, back-office and audit desktops into separate zones and keep PCI scope tight.

Healthcare

Present clean task-specific desktops to clinicians while back-end systems connect through per-VM VPNs.

Government / Public

Isolate citizen-facing browsing from internal systems and stream logs to SIEM/SOC for evidence and audit.

Manufacturing / OT

Keep OT control VMs away from office IT, reachable only via hardened jump hosts.

Property / Hospitality

Run NVR, PMS and portals in separate zones, with Multi-WAN and policy routing for uptime and control.

Home / SOHO / Lab

Consolidate smart home, cameras and private cloud. Each family member or lab user gets a safe workspace.

A shared access model for all applications

All Azblink applications run at the edge for secure multi-site access and are reachable by authorized users from desktops or Mobile devices—without exposing applications to the public internet.

Apps

Reference applications on Azblink NFV.

To prove what the platform can do, Azblink also ships its own applications on top of the NFV node. They cover both business and smart building / home segments, and act as built-in demos for the platform.

For ISVs & solution partners

Bring your own application image, and run it as one of many secure VMs on the Azblink NFV Platform — with per-VM networking, routing, VPN and service chaining already provided by the platform.

Tier 1 · Core NFV patterns customers buy first
Tier 1
Secure SD‑WAN & app delivery
Use Azblink NFV as a uCPE / SD‑WAN node to build a private delivery channel for internal apps or cached content across sites. Each app/cache VM gets its own network segment, policy, and VPN path — a clean way to scale without exposing services to the public internet.
Tier 1
Secure multi‑site app access
Multi‑site fabric · Secure mobility · Per‑VM isolation. Keep intranet apps private: users connect to the nearest NFV node (branch or Mobile VPN), then reach internal systems over routing + VPN + split‑DNS — without opening inbound access on the internet.
Tier 2 · Business workloads that commonly move to the edge
Tier 2
Azblink Mail
A complete on‑prem mail solution for SMB/SME when privacy, residency, or predictable cost matters. Run mail and security components in isolated VMs with audited traffic policies.
Tier 2
Azblink EHub
Next‑generation PBX + Web IM + Web Call, and a gateway for AI extension. Deploy as dedicated VMs with per‑service isolation and secure inter‑site connectivity.
Tier 3 · Vertical / future examples that demonstrate platform extensibility
Tier 3
Azblink SafeNest
Smart building / residential community management — extendable to smart home. Edge isolation helps separate IoT, residents, and management networks cleanly.
Tier 3
Azblink TeamPulse (planned)
UC plus document sharing/collaboration for mobile & frontline employees. An example of running collaboration close to users at the edge with strong isolation.
